Eyes on the Prize (more tries)

On this MLK

Day,

all I can say

is,

“Oy vey!”

Snubbed

by Norway

(as if they

were the

Nobel

Committee)

he intensifies

his demand

for Greenland

as he’s denied

the prize

for peace,

saying

he no longer

feels

an “obligation

to think purely

of Peace”.

The increase

in tensions

clarify

his intentions

just from

seeing

Green.

He’s

envious,

avaricious,

tyranical,

maniacal,

unethical

and none too

intellectual.

The prize

is still

peace

and

freedom

from

oppression.

Though you

realize

we must

never

normalize

his

agression

and self

obsession,

we’re reminded

today

of MLK

and a more

peaceful,

moral,

and hopeful

day

when our

country

tries

to do

better.

Peace On Earth

When we

use

Chat GPT

for every

inquiry,

will we

lose

the ability

to be

completely

human?

Currently,

when I see

a response

AI generated,

I’m fascinated

and disappointed.

It’s amazingly

quick

like some

magic trick,

but it’s

slick

with questionable

depth

and accuracy.

Like the Tree

of Knowledge

with forbidden

fruit,

Apple

and Google

and each brand

of bot

will not

bring forth

some Eden.

Even

if the uses

for science

and each

new appliance

will allow

us to save

lives

and time,

what else

is lost?

And what’s

the true

cost

of being

bossed

by

AI?

Vince Gilligan’s

newest

creation,

“Pluribus”

asks us

to imagine

a virus

that causes

kindness

and a singular

mind.

From many,

one;

except for

one

in New

Mexico,

and 11 more

scattered

around

the world.

The dozen

individuals,

ordinary

kinds,

possess

their own

minds.

The rest

of the world

shares

one

of a kind;

sharing

one mind

and emotion.

Life

on earth

feels flat

and lifeless,

despite

access

to all

and peace.

The inquiry

that is asked

of us

watching

“Pluribus”

is

what is

humanity?

Like the Garden

of Eden,

such paradise

may entice

at first

glance.

What would

make one

so averse

to a universe

of Peace

on Earth

and goodwill

to all men?

Well,

for one,

a woman.

The protagonist

in this

limited series

wants

the world

the way

it was.

Because

she desperately

wants

to preserve

humanity,

she

rejects

the simplicity

of complicity

with these

nice zombies.

Interestingly,

we get to see

peace

on earth

without love.

And maybe

that’s the message.

Love

is not

essential

to peace,

but it is

essential

for the potential

of humanity.

I wish

joy

to the world

and peace

on earth,

with love

Congratulations, World!

What better

peace prize

than one

the size

of a building

for the ever

-gilding

DJT?

He literally

replaced

The United States

in the name

of the Institute

of Peace

to increase

the number

of times

the man’s name

of presidential

crimes

appears

on real estate.

A nonprofit

think tank

(words that

don’t rank

in the lexicon

of POTUS Don),

got DOGED

earlier

this year.

Located near

the Department

of State,

“the great-

est dealmaker

in our nation’s

history”,

with the help

of the Department

of Government

Efficiency,

has taken over

the Institute

of Peace

by force.

Of course,

you know

that Hegseth’s

Signal Chat

that blabbed

war stuff

is enough

to remind

us that

conflict

remains

constant

each instant

with this

president.

Amidst

global conflicts

this president

inflicts

strikes against

Venezuelan

boats

just off that

coast,

and threatened

attacks on

Venezuelan

land.

No Nobel,

but hell…

the building

will tell:

The Donald J.

Trump

Institute of Peace.

It will surely

compel

only him.

A spokesperson

then fed

the press

and said,

“Congratulations,

world!”

Wearing Fatigues

At home,

a hodgepodge,

protected

by camouflage,

in cities

well in plain

sight.

Abroad,

there might

be a

possibility

of peace,

finally,

initially

guarded

internationally,

with peace-keeping

forces,

which forces

the question:

why all the tension

created at home,

while seeking

peace

in the Middle

East?

Of course,

if the Nobel

were given

for being

American

as well,

well,

you can

imagine

how different

we’d be.

Exhausting

everything

is the thing

if what

you have

to bring

to the table

is nothing

but grievance

and grift.

The  gift

of the office

of the presidency,

aside from

White House

residency,

is precisely

the ability

to boss.

It should

be to

lead,

but this guy’s

greed

has lead him

to merely

avoid loss.

His secret sauce

is to exhaust

or wait

for fatigue

to set in.

He takes

the win

with considerable

spin

while tearing

down norms

with that

shit-eating

grin.

The arsonist-

fire fighter-

chaos-igniter,

waits

for the weary

to have clearly

no energy

left.

He alone

can fix it

after

he alone

did nix

it

or created

a problem

for a solution.

Wearing down

his enemies

is how

he sees

success.

All that power

to make people

cower

or praise

his days

as POTUS.

He makes

everyone

tired

and mired

in dread

as he stays

ahead

of the game.

The phenomenon

intrigues us

and really

fatigues us,

which keeps

this POTUS

doing thus.

The camouflage

wearing

is so

obvious;

he’s making

us

a jungle.

Eyes On the Prize

Well,

even if

the Nobel’s

the sell,

let’s make

a deal

that’s finally

real.

No one denies

his eyes

on that prize

as a motivator

to broker

a peace

deal.

I feel

potential relief

and cautious

belief

that the bad

guys

who strong

arm

and justify

real harm

may begin

to end

this two-year

war.

The exchange

of each prisoner

for each hostage

remain

is the main-

stay of the

first part

of the deal.

The real

test for peace

in the mideast

will be in

the rest

of the 20-

point plan.

For each

Palestinian

and Israeli,

this war

has been

torture

for 2 years

daily,

while the

world

has watched

in horror,

appalled,

until the bad

guys called

for a peace plan.

I think

of Ireland.

It seemed

unbelievable.

So too,

Palestine

and Israel.

It’s certainly

possible,

when the bad

guys

prioritize

peace,

with their

eyes

on the prize.

Minimum Wage

At a minimum,

political

campaigns

are attempts

to influence

decision making

without violence.

We wage wars

on everything.

We conjure

the valor

of fighting

as a warrior

for the right

to champion

Cancer

Christmas

Guns

Personal Autonomy

Fetal Rights

Racial Equality

Gender Equality

Marriage Equality

Group Identity

Gender Identity

Social Justice

Climate Justice

….

You name it,

war is waged

on it.

Until now,

those wars

have been

metaphors

for concerted

efforts

to support

a cause

or suppress

what is

deemed

an invader

or enemy.

But even after

electoral decisions,

ill health remissions,

and holiday contritions,

divisions

remain,

and positions

harden.

At a minimum,

we wage

a perpetual

cold war

on  several fronts

at once.

Who are

the ones

waging peace?

Too idealistic?

They do not

need

to search

for the way

to peace,

for they know

that peace

is the way.

Too unrealistic?

It seems

that waging

war,

at a minimum,

does not

cause peace.

What happens

the day after

the cease fire?
