The King’s Speech and Map Quest

Unlike our president,

the king

was elegant

and eloquent,

addressing Congress

in nothing less

than a

masterclass.

Our special

relationship

he suggested,

was born

from dispute

brutally

contested,

yet met

to create

a partnership

based on

shared

values.

Charles

charmed

and disarmed

with praise,

while reminding

listeners

of guiding

principals

beyond each

phase

of history.

“Not by the will

of one,

but by

the deliberation

of many,

representing

the living

mosaic

of The United States.

In both

of our

countries,

it is the very

fact

of our vibrant,

diverse,

and free

societies

that give us

our collective

strength,

including

to support

victims

of some of

the ills

that,

so tragically,

exist

in both

our societies

today.”

He,

so beautifully,

recounted

our shared

history

and those

specifically

American.

Noting

our geography

that plays

significantly

in our story,

he recalled

the moments

of solemnity

and glory

that have

come

to define us

(at least

until

this Congress).

He spoke of

his Christianity,

the opposite

of vanity,

clearly

directed

at those elected

and seated

in the chamber.

“…the essence

of our two

nations

is a generosity

of spirit

and duty

to foster compassion,

to promote peace,

to deepen

mutual understanding

and to value

all people,

of all faiths,

and of none.”

Take that,

Mike Johnson!

He even included

an environmental

pitch

which he connected

to our

“glorious heritage”.

“…our generation

must decide

how to address

the collapse

of critical

natural

systems

which

threatens

far more

that the harmony

and essential

diversity

of nature.”

He mentioned

diversity

and unity

and the spirit

of generosity

throughout

his speech.

Charles gave

his masterclass

to teach

us

not only

of the greatness

of US,

but to bring

us back

to

E PLURIBUS

UNUM.

Meanwhile,

The Voting

Rights Act

became

historical

fact

that the Supreme

Court

wants to remain

in the past.

At last

the Republican

map quest

passed

the test

to reconfigure

congressional

districting

restricting

minority

voting

power.

If being

color blind

was what

the Court

had in mind,

we’ll likely

find

that what

is meant

by “intent”

in their

majority

argument

is disingenuous

as the dissent

points out

to us.

The Republican

request

to suggest

new

electoral

maps

will perhaps

change

the midterm

elections.

One

wonders

about

the real

intent

that was

meant,

in fact,

in chipping

away

at

The Voting

Rights

Act.

Similar

to

Roe V Wade,

they chipped

away

each decade

while

the most

vulnerable

are left

weakened

still.

This week

saw a King

speak

the right

thing

while the

Right Wing

Court

chose

to distort

the meaning

of everything

we understood

was for

a greater

good.

MSG

In The Garden,

The Paradise

lost,

the cost

of democracy

too great,

hate

was cherished

as the climate

perished;

slashing

and burning

while feeding

the yearning

for owning

the Libs.

And the actual

owners

of the factual

papers

in DC

and LA

chose not

to say

whom they

endorse-

another coarse

event

in this course

of events:

a course

on what

prevents

democracies

from thriving.

The striving,

conniving,

and disdain

reign

freely,

while the wealthy-

greedy

are the most

needy

in their

reality.

The love

of fear,

hate,

and retribution

was considered

contribution

in The Garden

event.

I’m spent,

yet must

invent

ways

to circumvent

the craze

over the next

several

days,

and the after-

math,

despite

the math,

of election night.

It’s the fright

in sight,

or that

I can

envision,

that the division

so heinous

and obvious

that the rest

of us

feel helpless

after

having voted,

is like

living

inside

a loaded

gun.

But that’s

what’s

fun

if you’re

one

of the MAGA

dramarama.

The MSG
was hopefully

too hyper

tensive

and unhealthy

for a majority

of Americans.

The shenanigans

are still

serious,

as those

delirious

pursue

the view

that a new

America

is overdue,

which looks

white

and pregnant.

None of it

is funny

or sunny

in that

Garden

of evil

that they

say is

good.

But we

should not

let their love

of fear

be ours too.

The MSG
additive,

so addictive,

is the loathing

and fear

and simple

smear

that requires

merely

hate.

I will not

satiate

myself

with bottom

shelf

MSG

only

to feel

hungry

for more.

The legacy

you leave

is not

your blame,

but your

love

and care;

and that

you dared

to not

despair,

but insist

we repair

with love

above

all else.

Faux Finish

Forgive my French

terminology

while exploring

the psychology

of the art of

trompe l’oeil

(sounds like

Trump Ploy).

It’s a trick

of perception;

a bit

of deception

with the intention

of confusion.

The illusion

comes from

the tension

between

what is real

and what isn’t,

always drawing

attention

to it’s own

chicanery.

Architecturally,

creating 3-D

interiorly,

painting

faux columns

or walls

may not be

exactly

high art.

But faux

finishes

are part

of the art

of deception,

challenging

perception.

Ah….

Voila!

The Trump Ploy

to destroy

includes

not just

enemies

within

his mind,

but the behind

the scene

design

of a faux

finish.

It will likely

not end

in a couple

of weeks

as he seeks

to paint

objects

as real

and appeal

any objection.

As this election

is his deflection

from crimes

and accountability,

in addition

to voting,

join me

in promoting

democracydocket.com.

Voting rights

and election

litigation

shaping democratic

institutions

should not

be illusions.

Help defeat

the delusions

of the faux finish.
