The President’s Crude

Now we know

“The Donroe

Doctrine”:

Mucho dinero

in exchange

of Madero

for American oil

on Venezuelan

soil.

Putting

in custody

another

bad guy

can’t justify

“We’ll run

the country”

now.

Trump’s

surprise

invasion

required

no persuasion

of the American

people

or

of Congress,

no less.

But

oil stocks

grew,

so why

renew

energy

when we

can invade

another

country?

(Just

a week

prior

the national

ire

was affordability.)

Not everyone

is a Beverly

Hillbilly.

And what

about

the instability

in that

petro-country

without

democracy?

We know

he loves

the oil

industry,

(his BFF

is the

head Saudi).

The military

action

may have

been

perfection

(although

almost

100 people

were killed),

but

the ramifications

for such invasions

are not

sympathetically

viewed.

Insatiability,

not stability,

or responsibility

drives

the probability

of more

of Trump’s

crude

presidency.

Let’s not

forget,

that at

Trump’s

direction,

the January 6th

insurrection

made possible

not just

the attack

on

The Capitol,

but his ability

to ignore

democracy,

and implement

crude

policy

seemingly

for free,

or for

the deals

he

gets

when he makes

such bets

with the

oily

captains

of industry.

Trump’s crude

presidency

has cleverly

worked

around

democracy.

But this

is the year

to renew

energy;

new energy

to mitigate

the worst

effects

of this

climate crisis

Trump’s crude

presidency

has imposed

upon us.

That’s What She Said

In a play

of morality

the other

day,

a display

of truth

entered

the interfaith

service;

a great

service

to the country

and to

humanity,

but not

to the mendacity

of the new

administration.

Bishop Budde

plead

for mercy

on behalf

of those

threatened

by executive

orders.

In the corridors

of religion

her decision

to confront

the affront

to decency,

magnificently

reflected

with clarity

the necessity

of and for

dignity,

honesty,

and humanity.

Obviously

aggrieved,

Vance

shook his head,

disagreed,

as his boss,

ever

resentful

and always

peeved,

later

demanded

an apology.

Christian

conviction

finally

gave voice

when Trump

had no

choice

but

to hear

her

(and our) prayer.

His greatest

care

was being

dissed,

his ring

not kissed,

and boy,

was he

PISSED!

Also amidst

the insanity

that is officially

this presidency

the “MAGA GRANNY”,

as she

has been

dubbed,

snubbed

the president

and his pardon,

speaking

truth

to power.

A rioter

on 1/6/21

she received

a pardon

for her conviction

after serving

60 days

behind

bars.

Pamela Hemphill

has endured

the horrible,

after suggesting

that Trump

is a criminal.

She admitted

she committed

a misdemeanor

to which

she plead

guilty.

She served

her time

for her crime,

and now

suggests

she was

gaslit.

She thought

she knew

what was

true,

until

she broke

from groupthink.

Out from

the clink

she warned

others

not to drink

the Koolaid.

Unafraid,

she shared

her story

and continues

to face

the daily

onslaught

of anger.

The real

danger

to Trump

and MAGA
is truth

and authenticity,

and the critically

powerful

women

unofficially

(politically speaking)

speaking out.

No doubt,

they and others

will receive

threats

or tests.

They spoke

the truth

and invoked

a spark

of inspiration.

This administration

will fail,

because truth

will prevail

even when

hushed

or temporarily

crushed.

(Even in Russia!)

Just remember:

that(’s)

what

she said.

1/6: A Fractional Day

Myth, ritual

and symbol

are universal

cultural

experiences.

No matter

what society,

they provide

a feeling

of unity.

What happens

when we

disagree

and see the

symbols

differently?

Or consider

the myth

less

an archetype

than a lie,

if not

a lot

of hype?

And when

a ritual,

once seen

as habitual,

is challenged

in its practical

sense,

the experience

actually

makes much

less

sense.

Here we are,

4 years hence,

since

a governmental

ritual

at The Capital

turned into

a capital

offense.

The myth

of The Big Lie

and the coup

attempt

to deny

the count

to certify

the 2020

election,

has as

its symbol

the shaman

guy,

among the

other signifiers

of election

deniers.

1/6

is its

own

homegrown

day

of infamy;

a reminder

that tyranny

begins

in one party

singularly,

without opposition

 institutionally,

or any

accountability.

Myth, ritual,

and symbol

are as

meaningful

as we make

them.

In this

case,

cultural,

they also

reference

the actual

factual

fractious

reality

of a singular

day

in January.

Insist the truth

remains whole

in future

memory

to protect

our fragile

democracy.

Mike Drop

News dropped

yesterday

about

the fateful day

of January 6th

nearly

three years

ago.

Pensive Pence

considered skipping

the election certification

proceedings,

noting

that there were

“too many questions”

and it would be

“too hurtful

to

my friend.”

His friend,

the fiend,

brought him

along

for the ride,

and now

it was getting

even bumpier

and Trumpier.

Pence’s book

notes,

“You know,

I don’t have

the authority to change

the outcome,”

but later

he contended

that the comma

never should have been

placed there:

“You know I don’t

have the authority

to change

the outcome…” .

Dropping the comma

changes the insinuation

about the situation

causing consternation

almost three years

later.

His son,

a marine,

sought

to intervene

saying,

“Dad,

you took the same oath

I took….

an oath

to support

and defend

the constitution.”

Ultimately,

Mike supervised

after

his life

was jeopardized

as the Capitol attackers

chanted

“Hang Mike Pence!”.

He survived

and certified

the election.

But to now get

an inkling

into his thinking

and the sprinkling

of information

almost 3 years

hence,

proves that Pence

was no better

despite

knowing better

than the rest

who didn’t

want to be

dropped.

Truth and Dare

It’s January 6th

and the House

has been

overtaken by

hostage

takers

again.

The Coup Crew

are still

at it,

denying

an

election.

This time

is non

violent,

but

intentionally

disabling

and

dismantling

the democratic

process

and

institution.

The not

Kevins

are not

going

to give

in.

Their attention

is too

useful

to them.

They are

base,

and feign

rebel

status.

People

are rooting

for the

standoff

to end,

not for

Kevin McCarthy

to be

Speaker.

There don’t

seem

to be

good

alternatives

now,

but

Americans

want their

government

for which

they pay

taxes

and vote,

to function.

We all know

the truth

of January 6th.

How

dare

these members

of Congress

dismember

The House.

Again.
