Next Day Err

I noticed

the reporting

was, in fact,

distorting.

Is journalism

comporting

to

you know

who?

A day

of demonstration

across

the nation

in every location

with a

fire station,

or at least

one

not far away,

should demand

we pay

close attention.

With barely

a mention,

and an odd

contention

that participation

was in

the tens

of thousands,

not millions

as the math

bares out;

the clout

of the once

touted

journalistic

outlet

is about

to get

caught

in what

ought

to be

simply

unthinkable.

Did pressure

mount

to distort

the count

or report

more generically?

Since when

have there been

approximately

2700 mass

demonstrations

across the nation

in a single day?

Meh?

And several

tens of thousands

in several

cities and towns

means millions

(at least seven)

gathered

and together

stood

for democracy

which should

be covered

accurately

and emphatically.

It’s a serious

story.

The NYT

and NPR

know when

numbers

are telling.

It’s smelling

fishy-

this wishy

washy

story of no

big deal.

The real

takeaway

from

an incredibly

peaceful

and supportive

pro-democracy

day

that was,

in fact,

of history

is no mystery.

Crowd size

matters.

And  the way

we tell it

will sell it

or not.

They may

downplay

this No Kings

day

as a way

to keep

the peace.

But we choose

the news

to peruse

assuming

abuse

is not

informing it.

Performing

it ,

with

a softer

version,

lacking immersion

in details,

further derails,

perhaps

incrementally,

what is essentially

necessary

for democracy

to be

more than

in name only.

AP Test

Denying access

to the press

is expressly

unconstitutional.

But in

the delusional

MAGA world

where

executive orders,

closed

borders,

billionaire

hoarders,

and a propensity

to support

Putin

rather than

Zelensky,

they want

to undo

what took

80 years

to build.

Filled with

lust

for power,

they must

also feed

their incessant

greed,

apparently

at ludicrous

speed.

And who will

read

the news

anyway?

Product

placement

is Trump’s

encasement,

and in case

you missed

the chainsaw

massacre

at CPAC,

well…

that says

it all,

in fact.

Lack

of tact

is nothing

new

for this

wrecking

crew,

whose

head

prefers

instead

to suggest

“king”

has a nice

ring

to it.

And the left

goes wild

when the

man-child’s

posts

are the most

inflammatory,

which he

regards

as congratulatory.

At least

don’t feed

the beast!

Anyway,

he’s more

like an

emperor

than like

a king,

seeking

to acquire

an empire

with Greenland

and Canada,

and possibly

Panama.

It’s the same

idea

I call

Putinesca

sauce.

(The actual

sauce

of Italian

name

came

from “puttana”,

roughly meaning

a

whore.

What’s more,

it’s used

as an all-purpose

profanity;

kind of like

shit

or shitty.)

Currently

the AP

is fighting

back

against

this Putinesca-

Emperor- Wanna

Be,

suing

the administration

over the

Gulf of Mexico

name-change

fiasco,

after being

blocked

from any

presidential

event.

If MAGA

meant

freedom

of speech,

they wouldn’t

test

the AP

or breech

the constitution,

but their

solution

is deranged

evolution:

survival

of the

unfit.

Please

do not quit

paying

attention.

This

is

not just

a test.

The Associated

Press’s

successes

rest in

reporting,

while MAGA’s

puttana

rests in distorting.

Like policy,

the AP
matters

to a functional

democracy.

Post Impressionism

Vermin.

From the river to the sea.

Globalists.

Confederate flag.

Noose.

Ok gesture.

Welfare Queens.

Real Americans.

Law and Order.

America First.

MAGA.

Speech

can be

a weapon

that kills

the bodies

politic

and civic.

Let’s not

pretend

that words

may offend

without

consequences.

Posting hate

through images

visual

and linguistic

is intentionally

antagonistic

and characteristic

of the most

objectionable

among us.

Proudly

bigoted,

they promote

identity-based

appeals.

These signals

of utterly

inappropriate

appropriations

are coded

language

that convey

affiliation

by othering

while intentionally

demeaning.

The Dog Whistles

that may have

once been

mostly political

are predictable

and critical

for everyone

to hear.

This coded

communication

provides

information

and plausible

deniability.

Hate speech

may be free

to post,

but the cost

of expression

that leaves

an impression

of hate

and threat

as code

for action

is not

an abstraction

or mere

distraction.

There is no

innocence

in a call

to violence

without

saying as much.

The impression

says it all.

Say Cheese

New revelations

of an old

memo

explaining fake

electors

as a tactic

to delay

and confuse

and

I’m not really

sure

what else

because its author,

the other Ken bro,

Chesebro,

admits

the legality

is dubious,

at best.

He acknowledges

it is

unlikely

to persuade

the Supreme

Court

to overturn

the (2020)

election,

but…

whatever….

let’s try it!

The thickening

plot,

for a time

thinly veiled,

is visible

(and audible)

and reeks

of criminality

and conspiracy.

Meanwhile,

The Sacrificial

Ham

figured out

his campaign

theme:

“I’m being indicted

for you.”

It’s the stuff

of TV

that you can’t

unsee,

and he

will surely

up the ante.

The anti-tv

folks suggest,

that televising

the trial(s)

will endanger

those

in the courtroom:

witnesses,

jurors,

lawyers and judge(s).

But so many

people want

to see

transparency.

I thought I wanted

the trial

broadcast,

because I thought

it would

show

truth,

like January

6th,

and the congressional

hearings.

Ha!

Will justice

be served

when they

say

cheese

for the cameras?

Un Tuck It

Letting it all

hang out

doesn’t suit

an outfit

that dresses

up

the truth.

While displaying

contempt

for Dems,

they actually

deride

their own

antidemocratic

followers.

Beneath

the smug

mug

of the elite

of Faux

News,

a frayed

Tucker,

insisted upon

giving

the people

what

they want:

b.

s.

Taking stock

in losing

stock

in case

the base

flees

from Fox,

the show

must go

on while

the truth

remains

tucked

away

on the air.

But the Dominion

suit

has exposed

the intentions

to deceive

the Fox

audience,

sustaining

The Big Lie

with no

accountability

unless….

until….

there is more

demand

to Un Tuck It.
